Does poetic speech proceed from the immediate intuition of genius or from a rigor that proceeds by mediations?

Dominique Pagani opens the session with movements of peoples: strikes in England and France, anger in Greece, crowds in Pakistan, rejection of France in Mali and Burkina Faso. He also warns: the real divide, he says, runs between a globalizing Atlanticist far right and local far rights. He then answers a listener's question: in the texts of Hegel, Rimbaud and Hölderlin, "what is speaking"? Do the summits of thought come from endless rigor or from intuition? He answers through intertextuality, with Rimbaud's "Mouvement," Hölderlin's hymn "To the Madonna" and "In the Forest," and Rousseau's fifth walk. These texts lead him to the water's edge, to the fragmented body and to the figure of the mother who gathers it up. The following questions concern Pentecost, the modern city (family, civil society, state) and intuition as forgotten labor. He concludes, with Racine and Rimbaud, that intuition and concept are not opposed: poetry has an objective rigor that passes through language, a collective treasure, and not through conscious thought.
