What does the opposition between left and right mean today, and what does the term "Islamo-leftism" conceal?

Dominique Pagani opens this pre-term session by announcing the next cycle, devoted to determination: the determination we repress, which determines us all the more, then the determination we recognize, which liberates us. He lays the groundwork with the paragraph from Hegel's Elements of the Philosophy of Right on the freedom of the void and the negativity immanent to the subject. He then applies this schema of the return of the repressed to the "neither left nor right" debate: for him, "Islamo-leftism" is a term of the right that masks "Islamo-Atlanticism," that is, the alliance of the Atlanticist West with Islamism, from Afghanistan to Libya. He then answers questions on Rousseau's Letter on Virtue, which makes the individual a part of the social whole, and on Platonic dialectic, which Hegel reads as the pivot of a coming revolution. He ends by defining the left: standing on the side of the victims rather than on the side of the one who judges.
