What does Hegel's formula "this femininity, eternal irony of the community" mean, and why is the tension between family and city it designates still relevant today?

Dominique Pagani opens the cycle devoted to his book "Féminité et communauté chez Hegel" with the laughter of the gossips in Verdi's Falstaff, which he relates to Hegel's formula on femininity, "eternal irony of the community." He then reads the chapter "The ethical world" from the Phenomenology of Spirit: the Greek city is divided into human law, the world of day and of man, and divine law, the underground world of the family presided over by femininity. He shows that Hegel does not choose between the two: the city gives essence, the family gives existence, and the community creates itself in what it represses, through war and death. He draws from this a first reason to return to the book, its relevance: a capitalism in crisis "societalizes" problems and opposes the parts to the whole, whereas Antigone defends a community and not an individual. The responses to comments allow him to formulate a dialectical law (seeking the common point of two opposites) and to distinguish woman and femininity; he announces at the end of the session the second reason, developing a book judged too short.
