How does the Norwegian collective Alt går bra articulate aesthetics and politics, from Diogenes' cynical cosmopolitanism to the recognition of popular art?

Dominique Pagani gives the floor to the Norwegian collective Alt går bra in his series on the relation between aesthetics and politics. The guests start from representations of the encounter between Diogenes and Alexander. They draw out the model of animality in cynicism: frugality, self-sufficiency, abolition of the private, cosmopolitanism. They then connect it to imperial universalism, from Stoicism to the manifest destiny analyzed by Losurdo. They present their work: the exhibition of paintings sold door to door in Bergen, banners, the acanthus, the mimeograph. He comments on each stage: popular art against court art and commercial "cosmopolity," the parasitism of Diogenes ("the margin is in the page"), proletarian internationalism as a synthesis between fascistic withdrawal and bourgeois cosmopolitanism, the dialectic of nation and region.
