What Dominique Pagani says

Dominique Pagani approaches geopolitics with a reservation: taken on its own, it stays on the surface and masks the struggle between rich and poor1. He therefore ties it to the crisis of capitalism. In his view, war is the effect of crisis, and the tendency of the rate of profit to fall leaves capital no way out other than war, as after the crisis of the 1930s2. He disputes that the European Union brought peace: that peace rested on the balance of terror, and war returns to Europe with Yugoslavia3.
