Did the European Union bring peace to Europe?

Dominique Pagani starts from a distinction: he fights the European Union because he loves Europe, whose culture also includes Russia. He then attacks the argument "Europe means peace": the peace from 1945 to the fall of the Soviet Union stems from the balance of terror between two extra-European powers, not from Brussels' Europe. He shows that war returns as soon as one of the two protagonists disappears, with the Yugoslav wars, triggered by Germany's recognition of Slovenia. He finally argues that Brussels' institutions were built to bypass the states, where Gaullists and Communists dominated, and to allow Germany a revenge. He ends with the current resumption of rearmament and the demonization of the Russian.
